Snom, a global manufacturer of IP phones for the business and industrial sectors, has launched its M900 Outdoor DECT multicell base station, offering companies a high-quality control centre that is not only easy to install, but also withstands cold, wind and rain.
Finding the best connection for a DECT base station indoors can often pose technical challenges - especially if transferring calls needs to happen seamlessly across many handsets. But it gets really tricky when trying to find a connection across outdoor areas too.
Snom’s VoIP-based DECT multicell base station, the M900, is equipped with an IP55 certified, shock-resistant (IK08) protective housing (300 x 175 x 80 mm), made of weather and UV resistant plastic, that overcomes many of the challenges of outdoor use.
The M900 outdoor station has a radio range of 50 metres indoors and 300 metres outdoors and enables smooth, uninterrupted telecommunication at temperatures of -20 to +60 °C. It is compatible with the Snom M25, M65, M70, M80, M85 and M90 handsets and can be intuitively installed on walls, ceilings and masts.
With the combination of ruggedised handsets and a weather-proof multicell, employees can stay in contact anywhere. Device maintenance is also completely problem-free, as each base station is able to wirelessly send software updates to connected handsets, freeing up time for IT departments.
Other notable features of the M900 Outdoor include DECT and LAN synchronisation, PoE and power supply support, TLS encryption and local, XML and LDAP telephone book support, as well as the ability to enable individual installations of up to 4,000 multicells and 16,000 handsets.
