Key features
With the Snom Beacon solution, Snom offers a cost-effective and timely solution to integrate professional location and asset tracking and alarm systems** into any existing Snom DECT multi-cell system*.
The Snom M9T Tag is an approximately 2 EURO coin sized tag that can be placed anywhere. It connects to the Snom M9B Beacon Gateway*** via Bluetooth LE. The tag can be attached to any object. Its signals are detected by the Snom M9B and processed to determine its position (RX mode).
The tag uses Bluetooth LE and is therefore very energy efficient. It has a motion sensor and thus only activates when motion is detected, which in turn saves power. All of this allows for a long battery life.
This allows a wide variety of scenarios to be mapped, from indoor navigation, theft protection, inventory management, tracking solutions and much more. On the one hand, the beacons are inexpensive to purchase, can be installed with minimal effort, and consume hardly any power thanks to the BLE standard (Bluetooth Low Energy). In addition, beacons do not normally affect existing infrastructures such as WLAN, DECT or mobile communications. Even medical devices remain undisturbed.
*Snom M9B Beacon Gateways can only be operated with Snom M900 bases.
**In many applications third party software is required

With the Snom M9B Beacon Gateways we offer an ideal solution for professional "location and asset tracking" as well as alarm systems into a into a Snom DECT multi-cell system of the M-series. The Snom M9B Beacon Gateway works as a Bluetooth satellite, which connects via a DECT data connection to a Snom M900 DECT base station. The 4 antennas integrated in the Snom M9B enable thanks to beamforming in the range of 1-1.5 metres, in order to protect objects from theft, for example. For the individual requirements of tracking (alarm, monitoring, signalling), we work with specialised specialised third-party providers. |
